Today we drove all the way back up to Lincoln from Devon to spend the next week with Eddy's family and have some much needed time catching up with them all. One of the main events we were looking forward to was Eddy's youngest sibling, Gabriel's confirmation which took place at the local Catholic Parish, at Our Lady of Lincoln. The Mass was a beautiful celebration and it was all the more special for us as we had been driving all day just to make it in the nick of time! We desperately wanted to be there for Gabriel as he had specially requested Eddy as his 'sponsor'. This gave Eddy the responsibility of helping to nurture Gabe through his catechesis and taking on the role to be a bit like a spiritual mentor for him in his faith journey.
It was a lovely occasion for the family and a great start to our week as we got to see everyone together straight away! We're really looking forward to spending some time with the gang over the next few days and I will keep you posted on what we all get up to.
Im going to 'hit the hay' now as I am one tired out mama!
